Driver Shot While Unloading In South Carolina

Published:

A Budweiser delivery truck driver was shot while he was making a delivery Monday afternoon.

Police were called to a store located near East Montague Avenue and Luella Avenue in North Charleston, South Carolina at approximately 1:00 p.m, WISTV reported.

When they arrived, they found the delivery truck driver and the co-driver in the trailer.  The co-driver said he pulled the driver inside the trailer after he realized he had been shot.  The co-driver told police that the driver was standing at the back of the truck, on the lift, when he heard gunshots.

The 24-year-old driver was shot once in the side.  Police found 5 shell casings at the scene.

Witnesses told police that an African-American male, between the ages of 19 and 25, exited a brown PT Cruiser and shot the driver.

The suspect is described as having a slim build, approximately 155 pounds with dreadlocks.  He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

The truck driver was transferred to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injures.

In February, a man was robbed while loading a trailer in the same area.
