Virginia State Police are looking for a driver suspected of firing a shot at a truck.
The incident occurred on Saturday at approximately 12:30 a.m. on southbound I-81, near the 245 mile marker in Rockingham County. The suspect was driving a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevrolet HHR-style vehicle.
According to the News Leader, the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident.
The bullet went through the passenger side of the cab and hit the 43-year-old truck driver in the leg.
“Both vehicles were moving at the time,” said a trooper told the News Leader. “A single shot was fired.”
The truck driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Augusta Health.
Virginia State Police said the truck driver tried to follow the suspect vehicle but lost the car in Augusta County.
