3 Seriously Injuries, 20 Minor Injuries in Greyhound Bus Crash

Overnight, a Greynound bus traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 crashed after 2 passengers reportedly attacked the bus driver.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. near Tonopah, Arizona, near the Burnt Well rest area.

Greyhound officials said 41 passengers were on board the bus.  Harquahala Fire District Chief Dan Caudle reported that three people suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to the hospital, 20 other passengers suffered minor injuries and 18 passengers reportedly did not have any injuries.

Two of the bus passengers, a man and his girlfriend, reportedly began punching the driver and grabbing the controls of the bus, causing the driver to lose control.

The bus crossed into the median where it came to rest.

The Greyound bus was reportedly traveling from Los Angeles to Dallas, with a scheduled stop in Phoenix.

The alleged attackers have been arrested.
