VIDEO: Fire Shuts Down Kansas Truck Stop

Published:

A Kansas truck stop was destroyed by a fire this week.

On Wednesday afternoon, a fire ripped through the Salina, Kansas Flying J truck stop, located just off of I-70 on Ohio Street.

The fire began at approximately 12:30 p.m. in a shed behind the truck stop’s main building and quickly spread throughout.

Employees were able to escape the blaze and turn off the fuel pumps.

Thirty-five firefighters worked to quell the 4-alarm fire.

The truck stop was evacuated and drivers were advised to avoid the area.  No injuries were reported, however, two employees were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The truck stop, which housed a Huddle House restaurant, appears to be a total loss.
