The Colorado State Patrol announced that they discovered dozens of safety violations during a commercial vehicle inspection campaign aimed at identifying unsafe truckers.
According the October 1 release from CSP, the inspections took place Platteville on U.S. 85 and Colo. 66. Troopers approached 217 semis during the operation and of those, inspected 33.
During the 33 truck inspections, CSP found 89 violations. Eight of the trucks were placed out of service for mechanical violations. One truck driver was placed out of service for driving without the proper license.
CSP says that they plan to conduct similar commercial vehicle inspection operations in new locations in the future.
