Texas Police Seek Speeding Car Driver Who Hit Trucker In Pilot Parking Lot

The Lufkin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a motorist who struck a truck driver at a Pilot truck stop parking lot early this morning.

Trucker Struck By Motorist Driving At Unsafe Speed Through Parking Lot

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Pilot on 1920 East Denman Avenue. Forty nine year old truck driver Michael Lynn Culbertson had been inside the store and was walking across the parking lot to get back to his truck when he was struck by a car. The car driver did not stop after hitting Culbertson, according to witnesses.

Witnesses told police that the car was driving at unsafe speeds through the parking lot. Police believe that the car may have been cutting through the parking lot.

Culbertson was taken to the hospital for treatment of a head injury.

Lufkin Police Department Asks For Help Finding Suspect

The car is described as a black or maroon Cadillac or similar model sedan. The model year is unknown. It was last seen taking a left on Ponderosa Drive. Police believe the driver could live in the Fuller Springs area.
