Fine For Illegal Semi Truck Tow Job Is Shockingly Low
Last May, CBS 2 brought you the story of a Michigan trucker who needed a tow after he got hung up on an overpass. According to the report, G.C.W. Tow & Recovery was able to free the stuck truck, but they didn’t provide an estimate and the driver and his company were shocked to receive a tow bill that was tens of thousands of dollars larger than expected.
Following that report, the Illinois Commerce Commission launched an investigation into G.C.W. Tow & Recovery. They found that the company was in violation of ten laws, but the fines for those violations were only $100 each.
