Texas cops collar crook who has been stealing from truckers for the past 18 years

The Seguin Police Department announced today that they have put a man behind bars for allegedly breaking into semi trucks and stealing items from truckers for nearly 20 years.

In a news release, the Seguin Police Department said that they have arrested 66 year old Patrick Joyner for breaking into trucks in Texas since 2000.

Man Admits To Stealing Valuable Electronics From Trucks

Police say that Joyner admitted to breaking into dozens of semi trucks over the years:

He has admitted to breaking into at least 40 big rig trucks across Texas and admitted to doing between 9 and 14 here in Seguin. Interestingly enough, he has over 200 pawn tickets since 1-1-2015, most of those being CB radios, radars, GPS’s and various electronics. He admitted that he thought about half of these pawned radios were stolen. We believe that the number is much, much higher, as he doesn’t work in an electronics store or for that matter anywhere. He also sold some “stuff” on the highway by bartering through CB radio traffic with truckers. Very enterprising, huh?

The release goes to on detail Joyner’s methods and to point out that he should know better than to steal from truckers at his age:

SPD Detectives found that Joyner had a distinct manner in burglarizing 18-wheelers. We have had around 38 vehicle burglaries since 1-1-2015 here in Seguin with the same entry method along I-10 (Joyner’s favorite place). Joyner admitted that he did his thieving from San Antonio to Houston along I-10 and from San Antonio to the Dallas Fort Worth area on I-35. At 66 years old he should know better. An arrest warrant was issued for him on 2-6-18 and executed on 2-7-18 by Seguin PD detectives. He is in our fine county jail on a 75K bond. The only electronics that Joyner will now get to enjoy is a little TV time in the GCSO TV room with his new friends.

Deputy Chief B. Ure remarked, “This career criminal is finally behind bars after years and years of stealing from others. This was from some good old fashion detective work by our folks.
