In this segment from the 20/20 report “My Reality: A Hidden America”, journalist Diane Sawyer rides along with a female truck driver and learns about the hazards of trying to navigate as a woman in an industry dominated by men.
Some of the women truck drivers tell stories of sexual assault while others say that they are never without a weapon while they’re on the road. The women say that they are in search of the steady income that they can earn as truck drivers but that they face harassment or assault from trainers or fellow drivers.
