Illinois transportation officials have closed both directions of a major interstate for heavy police presence involving a standoff.

Police say that a person has barricaded themselves inside their vehicle.
A negotiator with the Illinois State Police is on the scene.
A SWAT team and multiple law enforcement agencies are on scene.
The incident has resulted in heavy traffic delays.
