Defunct Celadon places company HQ and driver dorm assets up for auction

Shuttered Indianapolis, Indiana-based carrier Celadon is auctioning off assets from company headquarters and driver dorms as part of their bankruptcy agreement.

Former trucking giant Celadon will be auctioning off items from the company’s Indianapolis headquarters and driver dorms this month as part of the company’s bankruptcy proceedings.

According to Key Auctioneers, Celadon’s assets will be split up into four separate online auctions:

1. Driver dorms, training rooms and equipment, truck parts and grounds maintenance equipment.

2. Gym and exercise equipment (including treadmills, spin cycles and weights), medical equipment from the company’s clinic, TVs and cafeteria-style picnic tables.

3. IT and office equipment, including hundreds of computers, office phones, laptops, headsets, printers and TVs.

4. Office furnishings, including unique conference tables made from trailer decks, Knoll desks and office chairs.

None of Celadon’s trucks or trailers will be available for sale at the auctions.

Founded in 1985, Celadon filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and closed for good in December 2019 in the wake of a years-long federal investigation into allegations that the company misrepresented financial information to investors.

Thousands of Celadon truck drivers suddenly lost their jobs just before the holidays due to the company closure.

Celadon was the largest provider of international truckload services in North America, operating 3,300 tractors and 10,000 trailers at the time of the bankruptcy.
