Fight over fuel pump parking ends with trucker stabbing, attempted murder charge

A truck driver has been arrested on felony charges following a truck stop parking spat that took a violent turn in California this morning.

The violent altercation occurred around 9 a.m. on Friday, September 18, at the Petro 2 Truck Stop on Gonzaga Road in Santa Nella, according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.

When officers responded to the scene, they found a truck driver bleeding from stab wounds to the head, neck, arms, and chest.

Police also found a man, later identified as Sacramento-based truck driver Kuldeep Sandhu, who was “covered in blood” and being restrained at the scene by a citizen.

“Deputies quickly learned that the victim and suspect, both truck drivers got into a verbal argument over a parking spot at the gas pumps. During the argument the Sandhu produced a ceremonial knife and began stabbing the victim,” the Merced County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim was air lifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Sandhu was arrested and booked into Merced County Jail on charges of attempted murder.
