90mph winds on Colorado I-70 make for dangerous travel conditions, wind restrictions

Two semi trucks were overturned in Colorado today as high winds plagued the Eastern Plains region of the state.

According to 9 News, 60 mph winds were recorded on Wednesday morning, leading to white-out conditions, multiple road closures, and the toppling of several semi trucks.

Colorado State Patrol reported one semi truck blew over in the wind, and another overturned after a motorist rear ended the rig due to poor driving conditions.

No serious injuries were recorded.

After winds as strong as 90 mph plagued the state Tuesday night, the Colorado Department of Transportation has issued high wind restrictions along I-70 between Denver International Airport and the Kansas border. No light, empty, or high profile vehicles are permitted to travel during this time.

It is not clear when the restrictions will be lifted.
