Teen rescued after being pinned beneath semi truck

A 19-year-old man was rescued from beneath a semi truck in Connecticut on Wednesday. 

The accident happened on December 30th at around 8 p.m. on Pleasant Street in Willimantic, Connecticut. 

According to Eyewitness News 3, the unnamed 19-year-old was crossing the street when he was struck by an oncoming tractor trailer and got caught in the rig’s rear wheels. 

Crews spent 45 minutes rescuing the man, who was conscious throughout the entire process. He sustained serious injuries to his neck and head as a result of the incident, but the injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. 

The incident is still under investigation and it is not yet clear whether the truck or pedestrian had the right of way at the time of the accident.
