The Tennessee Department of Transportation says it is working around the clock to treat highways and keep roadways clear ahead of the next winter storm.
According to News Channel 5, another winter storm warning goes into effect at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening, but crews are doing their best to plow and treat primary routes ahead of the storm.
TDOT just re-opened US 231 in Bedford and Lincoln counties. Crews worked all day to clear fallen trees and move trailers that were abandoned last night after tractor trailer drivers got stuck on the ridge.

Despite TDOT’s efforts, many smaller residential roadways are still covered in ice, and snow and ice does remain on some portions of the interstates. TDOT also suggests driving with extra caution and staying on the lookout for fallen limbs and other debris that may be in the roadway.
Stay safe out there, drivers!
