Utah troopers say ‘drowsy driver’ to blame for crash snarling traffic on I-80

A single vehicle crash on I-80 in Utah is causing major traffic trouble for drivers on Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred on westbound I-80 at mile marker 130 in Parley’s Canyon in Utah.

Troopers said that a truck driver hauling tractor parts westbound on the interstate lost control and hit a traffic barrier, causing the trailer to crash over the barrier and leaving the tractor on top of the barrier.

The truck driver wasn’t injured.

Local outlet KUTV reports that troopers said the crash was caused by drowsy driving.

The Utah Highway Patrol says that traffic will be diverted to I-215 while crews clean up the crash. Major traffic backups have been reported in the area.
