Investigators are working to learn more about a deadly mass shooting that took place at a FedEx ground facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, late Thursday.
Police were alerted to shots fired at the Fedex Ground-Plainfield Operation Center around 11 p.m.
Indianapolis police Deputy Chief Craig McCartt told CNN that the gunman exited his vehicle and quickly began opening fire, first in the parking lot and then inside the facility. The shooting lasted between one and two minutes.
Police say that the gunman is believed to have taken his own life.
Eight people died at the scene. Five others were taken to the hospital for treatment and two were treated at the scene, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).

At this time, the motive for the shooting isn’t clear.
The FBI will be joining state and local police in the investigation into the mass shooting.
