5 Germ Zones To Keep Clean

Yep, they’re gross. We don’t really think about keys being dirty – but they definitely are. Your keys go everywhere with you, and they touch SO many less-than-sanitary surfaces throughout the day. Keys are given an ENORMOUS opportunity to collect bacteria. Although brass is known to be a naturally antibacterial substance, it’s not a bad idea at all to sanitize your key set with a disinfectant wipe, or scrub them with a little soap and water.

Your little buds are absolutely teeming with bacteria from your ears – and if you’re answering your phone without washing your hands first, your guaranteed to be coming into close contact with some nasty bacteria. But how the heck do you clean them? – Your best bet would be to purchase some electronic wipes, if there are rubber detachable pieces – those can be removed and soaked in vinegar water for 15 minutes. Keep in mind that a toothbrush works great for cleaning out and lint or dust from the speaker/grill of the earpiece.

You can’t win, right? All you’re trying to do is get clean, and it seems like you can’t get the job done without stuffing something dirty back in your bag and germing up everything in there! Toss your dirty laundry in a second mesh bag, regularly wipe down your gym bag with disinfectant, air it out when it’s not in use, and wash it with your laundry load when you’re home. This will help prevent your bag from harboring microbes that could spread infections or illness.

Shoes have a talent for picking things like E. coli bacteria out on the ground. Try your best to remember to wash or sanitize your hands after touching your shoes, and don’t allow them to sit in areas you’ll come into close contact with.

Reusable plastic bottles have a nasty habit of harboring an E. coli bacteria known as coliform if they’re not properly cleaned. Wide-mouthed bottles are the easiest for cleaning, and the harder the material your bottle is made out of, the better. – Scratches in the service provide a great space for bacteria to thrive. Wash and dry both completely and regularly – it’s also suggested that you soak your bottle in bleach water once weekly.
