Illinois Trucking Company Owner Facing Prison For Shorting Employee Pay

Published:

According to the Daily Journal, the owner of an Illinois carrier is facing up to 50 years in federal prison for filing fraudulent paperwork with the government.

On Friday, jurors found William “Pat” Clark, 40, guilty of 10 felony counts of making a false statement.

Clark, the owner of Clark Trucking and Excavation, was convicted of submitting fraudulent paperwork for a federally funded freeway project. The paperwork stated that Clark was paying his employees $33.45 per hour — the required prevailing wage– when in fact, Clark was only paying his employees $15 an hour.

Clark faces a fine of up to $2.5 million and 50 years in prison.

He will be sentenced on January 24, 2014.
