Former Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters’ husband was sentenced to jail today on charges of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl.
According to AZ Central, in June 2012 Terry Peters was arrested following an investigation into allegations that Peters sexually assaulted a young girl.
Peters was charged with sexual misconduct with a minor and sexual abuse.
Peoria police spokesman Jay Davies told AZ Central, “There are multiple instances of this happening.”
“Prosecutors say the victim’s mother called Terryl Peters to confront him in a recorded phone call, and he admitted having sex with the girl,” My Fox Phoenix reported.
Today, Terry Peters was sentenced to 14 years in prison and a lifetime of probation.
