In case you missed the news last week, Baltimore second grader Josh Welch was suspended from school for two days for biting his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun and allegedly saying, “Bang, bang,” to a classmate.
Welch claims he was eating the pastry into a mountain, but it ended up looking like a gun. Park Elementary sent a letter home with parents explaining the incident, but Welch says, “I didn’t get to eat all my breakfast. So, really, I am still hungry.”
Does the punishment fit the crime?
