Lancaster County District Justice Kelly S. Ballentine was caught dismissing her own tickets. A group who works to expose corrupt judges exposed Ballentine’s actions. They turned their findings over to the Pennsylvania attorney general.
As a result of the investigation, Ballentine was suspended– without pay for 3 months and then with pay and benefits for the remainder– for 16 months and was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine.
Ballentine has now returned to her position at the Lancaster city court office.
