Around 2,000 Florida-based truck drivers have received notification that their CDL will be cancelled if they do not take action.
According to a letter from Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, a third party CDL tester has been accused of improper testing procedures, so the state suspects that some of the drivers that he tested are not qualified. The letter stated that all drivers who were tested by Clarence Davis after January 1, 2012 must retest within 60 days or face cancelation of their CDL.
While state officials say that they recognize that retesting will be a costly inconvenience for truck drivers, road safety is their main concern.
