VIDEO: Highway

‘Highway’ is a Marko Popovic film about the infamous Ibarska Highway which connects North and South Serbia.

As legend has it, an old graveyard was leveled to build the road. Ever since the destruction of the cemetery, frequent auto accidents have been claiming the lives of motorists in the area.

This documentary provides an up close and personal look at the current state of Serbia.

“Like the unsettled ghosts of the old graveyard took over the whole route, all the people, and all the country. The road-movie along the Ibarska Highway is a journey to the inner worlds of so-called “small people” and a nation in transition.”
