A trucker discovered another driver deceased in his truck at a Mississippi truck stop yesterday.
Company Called For Truck Stop Welfare Check
Police received a call to do a welfare check on a driver after his company became alarmed after not hearing from him for four days. They used GPS to track the truck to a Love’s truck stop off of Highway 78 in Belden.
By the time police arrived around 9 a.m., another trucker had already spotted the driver slumped over the steering wheel.
Initial Investigation Suggests Driver Died Of Natural Causes
Investigators do not suspect foul play.
Police have identified the driver as 63-year-old Geoffrey Williams of Connecticut.
