I-84 Shut Down For Fatal 6 Vehicle Crash

A fatal crash involving two semis and four passenger vehicles has closed down westbound I-84 in Montgomery, New York, until further notice.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-84 near Exit 5.

One person died as a result of the crash. Several other people are injured.

On scene reports say that several people were trapped in their vehicles by the crash.

The crash occurred in a stretch of road that had been narrowed down from two lanes to one for road work. There was also a serious accident involving a truck in this area on Monday.

It is still unclear what caused the crash.

Authorities do not expect I-84 to reopen before 4 p.m., though they say it could take longer.
