Trucker Arrested Following Six Semi Chain Reaction Crash

A Florida trucker has been arrested after allegedly causing a chain reaction crash involving six semis and one van on I-65 near Franklin, Indiana, yesterday.

Rear Ending In Construction Zone Leads To Six Semi Truck Crash

According to Indiana State Police, the incident happened yesterday at 4:15 p.m. at mile marker 92. Police say that 43 year old truck driver Jose Montalvo rear ended another semi that was stopped in the right lane of a construction zone. This collision caused a chain reaction crash with four additional trucks and a van.

Montalvo reportedly fled the scene on foot. He was later located and arrested.

One of the truck drivers in the crash was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Hazmat teams were called in to clean up leaking fuel and engine and transmission fluids.

Truck Driver Faces Numerous Charges

Montalvo was charged with driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene of the crash and driving without insurance, following too closely, and various other federal motor carrier violations. He was held on a $2000 bond.
