VIDEO: Iowa DOT Shares Footage Of Semi’s Last Second Swerve

Take a look at video captured by Iowa DOT cameras this morning in which a trucker makes a last second swerve off the road into the grass in an (unsuccessful) attempt to avoid stopped traffic from a previous fender bender.

From Iowa DOT: “Paying attention in traffic is critical! Secondary crashes are often caused when people aren’t aware of what is going on around them. This was the case this morning at the west mixmaster. The original fender bender happened when traffic slowed merging onto I-235. Thankfully the truck in the secondary crash did not make contact with the vehicles on the shoulder or with the occupants of those vehicles who were outside of the cars.”
