The crash happened just before 9 a.m. this morning when a box truck driver traveling north on King of Prussia Road attempted to pass under the 10 foot, 10 inch overpass in a truck that was about 12 feet tall. The truck became wedged under the overpass.

No injuries were reported.

The box truck driver told Radnor Township police that he is familiar with the area and often goes under the railroad overpass, but that today he was in a different truck than the one he usually drives.

The box truck hit an I-beam and caused significant damage to the structure of the overpass.

The incident is still under investigation.

King of Prussia Road was shut down for hours while crews worked to remove the struck truck.

The railroad overpass is a frequent target for truck strikes. It was hit by trucks as recently as December 4 and November 16. Radnor police say that this is the fortieth bridge strike since 2008.
