Motorist Arrested For Attacking Trucker With Tire Tool

Texas police have arrested a man who they say hit a truck driver in the head with a tire tool after a minor fender bender.

The incident took place on Tuesday night around 10:20 at the FedEx facility in Hewitt, Texas. A confrontation reportedly began when a tractor trailer hit a pickup truck, causing minor damage to the vehicle, according to a report in the Waco Tribune.

According to Hewitt Police Assistant Chief Tuck Saunders, “The pickup truck (driver) said he backed up trying to avoid being hit and the two drivers then got into a disturbance. The man in the pickup got a tire tool and allegedly hit the truck driver in the head.

Pickup Driver Faces Felony Assault Charges

Police arrived at the scene and arrested 57 year old Scott Carroll Modisette. He is facing felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $25,000.

The truck driver was treated for his injuries from the assault at the scene.
