A truck driver is now in the hospital after leading police on a 30 mile pursuit on I-270 through Columbus, Ohio.
Hilliard police began to receive calls about a semi driving erratically around 7:30 p.m. last night. Officers tried to pull the truck over, but the truck continued weaving along the interstate at a slower rate of speed.
Several more police units joined the pursuit and after 30 miles they were able to use stop sticks to flatten four of the truck’s tires and bring the semi to a stop.
The truck driver was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police believe that he could have been suffering from a medical issue like complications from diabetes.
The truck was loaded with 43,000 pounds of syrup.
The incident is still under investigation.
