FedEx Ground investigating viral video of suspected road rage

Published:

FedEx Ground says that they are looking into the circumstances behind a viral video that appears to show one of their trucks running a minivan off the road.

The video was posted on Facebook on Wednesday, June 20, by user Luke Czekaj, who writes, “Last Friday, a friend of mine’s wife and her mom were traveling down I-85 in Blacksburg SC and took this video of a FedEx truck trying to run a car off the road!”

In the video, you can see the FedEx Ground truck signaling to move into the left hand lane, which is occupied by a minivan. As the FedEx truck moves left, the minivan driver swerves off of the road to avoid a crash, then accelerates back onto the road to move in front of the truck. The women filming the video from another car react to the incident, exclaiming “Oh my God! He just kicked him off the road! He just kicked him off the road.

After the video garnered over 6000 views on Facebook, FedEx Ground released a statement on the incident to local news station WCNC:

Safety is our top priority at FedEx Ground and we hold contracted service providers to maintaining the highest safety standards on all roadways. We are aware of this incident in the Charlotte area and are grateful that no injuries occurred. We are reviewing the circumstances behind this video and will take the appropriate steps to address this matter.
