The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) has shared dash cam video of a devastating semi truck crash that happened in a construction zone last week.
The crash happened at approximately 6 a.m. on July 18 on US 93 near Las Vegas, according to reporting from News3LV.
NHP says that several vehicles were stopped by a construction crew flagger when a semi truck approached the construction zone. In the video, you can see that the flagger motioned for the truck to stop. When the flagger realizes that the truck wasn’t stopping, you can see him flee to evade the truck.
The truck collided with another commercial vehicle and three passenger vehicles. Two people, Robert Barns, 50, and Christopher Markley, 34, were ejected from one of the passenger vehicles. Neither of the men survived.
No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing. NHP investigators say that they suspect drowsy driving could have been a factor.
