A double fatality crash has forced Oklahoma transportation officials to shut down the Roosevelt Bridge over Lake Texoma near the Texas border.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. when a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer collided on the bridge, which carries U.S. 70 over Lake Texoma. The crash sent the semi truck careening off of the bridge into Lake Texoma below, becoming fully submerged. The other vehicle caught fire after the crash, according to OKCFOX.
Both the truck driver and the passenger vehicle driver died in the crash. Their identities have not been released.
Oklahoma transportation officials say that the Roosevelt Bridge is closed indefinitely and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
Oklahoma troopers report that the truck is leaking an unknown substance into the lake.
The incident is still under investigation.
