Capitol Christmas tree reaches final destination thanks to truckers

The U.S. Capitol Christmas tree was safely delivered this week — thanks to a team of law enforcement and truckers.

The 60 foot tall blue spruce tree arrived at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. this week after making a 2000 mile trip from Carson National Forest in New Mexico.

The truck that delivered the tree is a specially wrapped Kenworth W990

A team of three truckers from New Mexico-based company Wilbanks Trucking Services split up the oversized load driving duties during the tree’s journey and were able to safely bring the tree to the nation’s capitol, where it will be enjoyed by thousands.
