When a major illness ended a Kentucky man’s trucking career, a whole community of his fellow drivers showed up to show support and help him financially.
Veteran truck driver Tony Corns and his family were devastated when he was recently diagnosed with Bergers Disease, a kidney disorder that requires him to undergo dialysis treatment three times a week. Because of the illness, Corns is no longer able to drive trucks.
After learning the tough diagnosis, members of the trucking community in Tollesboro, Kentucky, organized an October 26 poker run with benefits going to financially support Corns and his family. The poker run was followed by a dinner and benefit auction.
As part of the benefit, more than 60 semi trucks convoyed past Corns’ home, honking and waving to show support.
