Police have shared dash cam video of two truckers reacting quickly to the reckless driving of a pickup truck driver in order to prevent a possibly deadly crash.
The incident occurred on Highway 24 near Simcoe, Ontario, just before 10 a.m. on Monday, September 9.
Police say that a northbound pickup truck driver made a sudden turn in front of a semi truck, forcing the southbound driver to take evasive action and sending the northbound truck into a ditch as both driver tried to avoid a serious crash.
No serious injuries were reported.
Police say that the pickup driver left the scene but was later found and will be charged.
The Ontario Provincial Police said that the truckers prevented a deadly crash with their evasive maneuvers: “WATCH –how two transport truck drivers saved a life today @NorfolkCountyCA. It happens fast and that decision YOU make as a driver has endless effects on everyone involved. Please #Slowdown and #DriveSafe. #NorfolkOPP”
