Troopers use social media to shame DUI semi driver

The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) used Facebook to call out a driver for “driving drunk in a semi on one of the most travelled roads in the country.”

Troopers say that they arrested 52 year old Ontario-based truck driver Michael Jackson around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6.

NSP says that they stopped Jackson as he was driving on I-80 near Waverly, Nebraska, after another driver had called police to report a semi truck driving erratically in the Lincoln area.

Trooper Ben Nguyen reported that when he administered a Breathalyzer test, Jackson’s BAC was .317 — about eight times the 0.04 limit for commercial vehicle drivers.

Jackson reportedly spent two nights in the Case County Jail before bailing out on Monday night, according to the Hastings Tribune.

NSP shared a Facebook post about the DUI arrest on July 7.

Driving drunk in a semi down one of the most travelled roads in the country. Great job, Trooper Nguyen, for removing this dangerous driver from the road.
