Alabama troopers find and seize $1 MILLION in cash during CMV inspection

Alabama authorities have released information on a major cash seizure they performed during a roadside safety inspection.

According to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, (ALEA) the cash seizure happened on Monday, August 31 near Evergreen.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Motor Carrier Safety Unit stopped a tractor trailer traveling on I-65 and performed a safety inspection.

During the inspection, troopers discovered $1,030,000 in cash.

The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The two occupants in the truck were eventually released, but ALEA says that the cash was “detained.”

The incident is still under investigation. ALEA says that no further information is currently available.
