‘Expect lengthy closures’ on Oregon interstate for flooding

The Oregon State Police have issued a warning to drivers about an interstate closure due to rising flood waters.

On Friday morning, Oregon State Police shared a Facebook post that reads,

Important #TrafficAlert information 

I-84 in several areas from Hermiston to Ontario are closed due to flooding.  Oregon Department of Transportation is expecting lengthy closures.

These photos are from I-84 milepost 187 at Hermiston this morning.

The Oregon Department of Transportation says that the closure will last for at least a day: “I-84 ODOT CLOSURE: I-84 WB WILL BE CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING FROM ID BORDER TO 187 FOR AT LEAST 24 HRS. EB TRAFFIC CLOSED FROM MP182-188.”
