Multiple fatalities reported in tractor trailer crash on I-40
Tennessee authorities have reported a serious multiple vehicle crash near Jackson.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning on westbound I-40 at mile marker 94 outside of Jackson, Tennessee.
At least two semi trucks were involved a crash that left both vehicles on fire.
The Jackson Sun reports that there are multiple fatalities as a result of the crash. At least one person was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
Firefighter were able to extinguish the truck fires shortly after 9 a.m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that westbound I-40 should reopen around 11:30 a.m.
