Troopers say semi driver ‘likely saved a life’ on I-80 this weekend

Published:

The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) said that a professional driver averted a potential tragedy over the weekend.

The incident occurred on I-80 on Saturday, August 29, according to an August 31 report from NSP.

Troopers said that the truck driver was preparing to pass a silver SUV when he spotted a black SUV driving the wrong way on I-80.

The trucker was able to avoid the head-on crash with the black SUV and had only a minor collision with the silver SUV.

NSP says that the elderly driver in the black SUV was reunited with her family.

“This could have been a tragedy, but this professional driver did an incredible job. Thanks to him, everybody was able to get home without injury,” NSP said.
