Truck driver found deceased in truck at Ohio fuel station

A 46-year-old truck driver was found deceased in his truck at a fuel station in Ohio over the weekend after his brother requested police perform a well check on him.

According to The Daily Jeff, the victim spoke with his brother around midnight on Friday night. The victim told his brother that he was stopping for the night because he didn’t feel well. Following that call, his brother had made multiple attempts to contact truck driver but all of his calls went unanswered.

On Saturday, the victim’s brother grew worried so he called the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Department and asked them to perform a well-check on his brother.

Guernsey County sheriff’s deputies arrived at Speedway fuel station at approximately 9:05 a.m.

When they arrived, deputies looked in the truck’s windows and were able to see the victim’s face and arm.

The truck was locked but a window was partially opened, so a deputy reached through the open window and was able to unlock the door. The deputy entered the truck and found the truck driver deceased. Authorities believe the driver had been deceased for several hours prior to the discovery of his body.

There were no signs of foul-play. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The identity of the driver has not been released.
