Video shows deadly nine vehicle pileup on I-5 in Sacramento

A car’s rear dash cam captured a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred on a California interstate on Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 5:40 p.m. on September 8 on southbound I-5 at Florin Road in Sacramento, California.

The crash ultimately involved nine vehicles, one of which was a semi truck hauling a load of plywood.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a motorist in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene while three others were transported to the hospital. The truck driver was not injured.

CHP says that the crash is under investigation and police are using dash cam video submitted by Ryan Seo in the investigation.
