17 dead following ‘mass fatality’ crash at US-Mexico border
As many as 17 people were killed in a ‘mass fatality’ crash near the US-Mexico border on Tuesday morning.
The accident happened in Imperial County, California at 6:16 a.m. on March 2nd.
According to The Wave News, fifteen first responders and five fire trucks were called to the wreck just off of Highway 115 north of Holtville.

Officials believe the incident began with a collision between a semi truck and an “SUV,” which Fox News says may have actually been a bus.
A helicopter also responded to the scene, and multiple people were transported to El Centro Regional and Desert Regional medical centers.
“The patients are, of course, going through a bit of a difficult time, as you can imagine. This was a major accident, and we are taking care of them in the Emergency Room Department,” Dr. Adolphe Edward, chief medical officer at El Centro Medical Center, said during the conference, according to Fox News.

Highway 115 northbound and southbound from Holtville is currently shut down for cleanup and investigation. Further details surrounding the crash have not yet been released.
