DoorDash for diesel? On-demand service promises to deliver fuel to parked truckers

A newly announced delivery service promises to save truckers time and hassle by delivering fuel to drivers wherever they’re parked.

The delivery service is a joint partnership between TruckPark and FuelMe and was announced on January 5.

The service will allow truckers to schedule fueling through the existing TruckPark app or the FuelMe app. After the fuel is requested, the service will dispatch a tanker to the driver’s location — whether it is at a TruckPark overnight lot or at a rest area or customer facility.

The companies say that since “drivers often wait 62 minutes or more to fuel-up at major truck stops (especially during peak hours),” the service can save truckers time and money.

The service will be available at “less than pump prices,” according to FuelMe President William Marr.

“Our partnership with FuelMe is a big win for the nearly two million truck drivers who already have access to the TruckPark app and now will benefit from the time-saving convenience of having fuel brought directly to them,” said TruckPark CEO Anthony Petitte. “This is a natural synergy for our two companies that are both dedicated to enhancing the truck driving experience for our customers. Truck drivers and fleets can opt-in beginning today for fuel using both the TruckPark app and FuelMe app. This will eventually turn into a major application to provide these important services anywhere a driver is held up.”

TruckPark is an app-based service that connects drivers to secure overnight parking.

FuelMe provides 24/7 fuel ordering and emergency roadside assistance services anywhere in the nation.
