Family of 10 injured in wreck with semi truck

A family of ten was involved in a serious wreck with a semi truck in Utah on Tuesday night, claiming the life of the father and injuring his wife and ten kids. 

The accident happened on June 22nd in Tooele just after 8 p.m. 

According to ABC 4 News, the father was driving an SUV pulling a trailer east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 78 when he apparently fishtailed, sending the SUV and trailer into the side of a semi truck, also traveling east. 

The SUV and attached trailer then lost total control, spinning until it struck the center median and overturned, landing on its roof. 

The driver and father of the family was fatally injured in the wreck and died on scene. The mother and eight children were injured in the wreck, but none of their injuries were considered life-threatening. All were transported to a nearby hospital shortly after the wreck. No other injuries were reported. 

The Utah Highway Patrol says the crash is still under investigation.
