One person was killed in a crash involving multiple semi trucks in Nevada on Wednesday evening.
The incident happened at around 5:23 p.m. near Mesquite, Nevada.
According to KUTV News, a semi truck was traveling northbound Interstate 15 near the southern Utah state line when it suddenly veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder, where it crashed into another semi truck parked on the side of the road. The runaway rig then veered back across the northbound lanes and into the southbound lanes, where it collided with a southbound semi truck. That rig then struck a passenger vehicle also traveling southbound and overturned, spilling its load across the highway.
The driver of the first semi truck was pronounced dead on scene. Two people inside of the four wheeler were transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the third tractor trailer suffered minor injuries but was treated and released on scene.
Both sides of I-15 were shut down for several hours following the wreck.
