Police and transportation officials in North Dakota flipped the script on Monday by handing out free lunch rather than citations to truck drivers passing through the weigh station.
In honor of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), and the North Dakota Motor Carriers Association (NDMCA) joined forces at the West Fargo weigh station to provide drivers with free lunches.
The lunches were provided by NDMCA as a token of appreciation for the truckers who passed through the weigh station.
This year’s Truck Driver Appreciation Week takes place from September 13 — 18.
