Police on hunt for motorist that fired multiple rounds into cab of moving semi truck

Police are searching for the motorist responsible for the firing of multiple rounds into the cab of a semi truck in Utah earlier this week.

The shooting occurred on June 28th in Salt Lake City along Highway 40 at around 5 a.m.

According to KJZZ News, the semi truck was heading east on Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir with a silver SUV traveling behind it when the rig began to pass a third, slower vehicle. The silver SUV passed the vehicle as well and pulled up alongside the semi truck. The SUV stayed beside the rig until the trucker heard gunshots.

One of the shots shattered the driver’s side window, and another struck the driver’s side door. Luckily, the trucker was not hurt in the incident and was able to slow the rig and get away from the SUV, which continued east on Highway 40 and did not stop. The trucker then contacted police, who began the investigation.
The Utah Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 801-887-3800.
